Kind LED Grow Lights is a company that specializes in indoor grow LED lights. This company has collaborated with many professional hydroponic growers and soil growers to research and develop their LED indoor grow light technologies.
Kind LED grow lights produce large yields in terms of quantity and quality, while producing a low amount of heat and consuming a low amount of energy. Kind LED lights are designed and customized to be an efficient solution for indoor growing.
Kind LED lights are designed with indoor growing in mind. They are comprised of high powered 5 or 3 Watt light emitting diodes. These diodes feature a 12 band spectrum that are designed for the vegetation and flowering stages of growth.
Kind LED has 3 series of grow lights. The K3 series, K5 series, and X40 series. We will go through each of these series to give you a better look at how Kind LED lights work.
The K3 Series L600 LED Grow lights are high powered 3-watt light emitting diodes with a 12 band spectrum. This spectrum has both infrared and ultraviolet diodes. These LED lights produce almost no heat and run fairly cool. The K3 series has a 700mA driving current that results in a brighter LED light.
Included with the K3 series of LED lights is a secondary optical lens that magnifies PAR and increases the amount of canopy penetration by nearly 200%. The K3 series also promotes excellent quality by including heat sinks, quiet fans, and precision drivers.
The K5 Series XL1000 grow light has built in internal timers, remote control ability, and has around the same carbon footprint and yield of a 1000W High Pressure Sodium (HPS) light. The value proposition for the K5 LED series is incredible when compared against other brands like HPS lights. The K5 uses less electricity, does not require as many bulb changes, and runs cooler than High Pressure Sodium Lights.
The K5 series LED lights have three primary ranges of photosynthetic light that can either be dimmed or intensified. By dimming or intensifying each range of light, you will have more control over your plants ideal spectral ratios. You can control spectral ratios of your plants from the seed directly to harvest.
The X40 Series Bar Light is designed to be one of the most versatile lights KIND LED offers. The light is IP65 certified meaning it is pretty water resistant. This is great if you need to constantly water your plants and don’t want to worry about your bar light being affected.
The X40 Series Bar Light also has an ETL listing marking its compliance with North American safety standards. The Perfect Blend Spectrum on the X40 Series Bar Light comes in either flower or vegetative integrations. With either integration you are provided with photon emissions that cover every wavelength in the photosynthetic spectrum. This offers excellent control over how your plants grow.
Kind LED Grow Lights have been researching the best way to grow for quite some time. They have utilized high intensity discharge lighting to obtain quality yields. The goal for KIND LED Grow Lights was to design lights that cut electrical production in half and produce next to no heat.
Kind LED develops LED lights that are a direct competitor to HPS lights.
KIND LED lights are unique because they offer an efficient balance of Lumens, PAR, and a wide spectrum of light. These lights are created to be as energy efficient as possible in order to promote plant and vegetation growth.
Before we can explain why the KIND LED Lights are so unique we need to explain a few key measurements to analyze the usefulness of grow lights.
Lumens measures the intensity of the light. The higher the intensity of the light the more energy that is consumed. Photo Synthetic Active Radiation (PAR) is a metric used to determine how much light a plant absorbs. The spectrum represents the visible light spectrum that LED lights, and lights in general, can emit.
KIND LED lights are uniquely positioned in the market to provide LED lights with a low level of Lumen, meaning a low level of energy consumption, and a high level of PAR. Each specific series balances these factors differently.
There are a few different configurations that you can purchase for the KIND LED grow lights. Some of these configurations come with optional optics. Other configurations can change which type of grow light is used, one for vegetation, and one for flowering. We will break down the pricing by each specific KIND LED light.

KIND LED Grow Lights are received highly for the LED alternative they provide when compared to HPS lights.
With the K3 series people tend to enjoy the large heat sinks and quiet fans. Sometimes grow lights can have large fans which prove to be an annoyance for some buyers of LED lights. The light is also plug and play meaning that setup is very simple. The secondary optical lens to improve canopy penetration is also a welcome addition.
A critique of the K3 Series L600 is that it is on the pricey side of grow lights. The customer service provided by LED lights has been considered as spotty as well.
The K5 Series XL1000 is also well received by the public. One of the most commented on features that is appreciated is the fact this light comes with a remote control. With this remote control you can control various aspects of the light. The customizable spectrum also helps people save money by allowing them to control the intensity of the light.
Some critiques of the K5 Series XL1000 is that it has a much higher price compared to other HPS lights. The power cord is also somewhat short coming in at around 6 feet. This could prove somewhat difficult to setup for some folks. This light also has less canopy penetration than a 1000 watt HPS light.
The bar light is a low cost home growing solution that buyers appreciate because of how inexpensive it is. These bar lights are also low profile, a factor buyer of this light appreciate because it makes the light easy to place in a space.
KIND LED lights are mostly compared to HPS lights. HPS lights produce more Lumens than Kind LED lights. Because they produce more Lumens, HPS lights also require significantly more energy than LED lights. Increased Lumens can also lead to an increase in temperature making grow rooms hot and uncomfortable.
The main value proposition of KIND LED lights is that they do not run as hot as HPS lights and do not require as much energy. Depending on how much energy you consume your home could be flagged for suspicious activity. This has a higher chance of happening if you use HPS lights that require more energy.
If you would like to use an HPS light, then we recommend purchasing the GE Lu70heco. This HPS light consumes a low amount of energy and is pretty cost efficient. The GE Lu70heco produces around 6400 Lumens and can cost anywhere between $10 and $28 depending on where you purchase the light.
We think KIND LED lights provides a very interesting alternative to HPS lights. Depending on what you grow energy consumption is going to be a large issue. If you grow marijuana high energy consumption can also be a tip off leading to investigation if you live in a state where recreational or business growth is not allowed.
The KIND LED lights we have seen thus far have excellent modern designs that appear to fit well in any given space. We appreciate the remotes that allow for control over specific products as well. Instead of having to guess what your lumen output is, or what the color spectrum of your lights is currently set at, you can the remote to tweak all of those values.
Another factor that we appreciate about the KIND LED lights is how straightforward and positive the seller is. When speaking on the LED lights that they provide, they are very thorough and provide a wealth of information on Lumens, PAR, and specific spectrums of light that their products can produce.
KIND LED’s commitment to educating the buyer on the specifics of their products energy consumption and light output is refreshing. KIND LED is very descriptive with their product and we think that will ultimately work in the customer’s favor. It is very easy to compare KIND LED lights to other LED solutions as they provide all of the information upfront on the product page for each of their products.
Lastly, we think KIND LED’s site is very user friendly. Having an easy to navigate site to find information on LED lights is important especially when compared to a site that does not use a minimal interface. We appreciate this company making information as easy to gather as possible.
Although KIND LED lights are on the more expensive side of lights for growers, we believe the quality and control that they provide puts them above the rest of the competition.
Depending on when you purchase a KIND LED light you can actually find it on sale. We are not sure when they decide to put items on sale and would recommend you check back on the product page often if you are looking for a sale. For example, we have seen the K3 series lights for sale for as much as $250 off.
If you would like to find KIND LED lights for cheaper than they are listed than you could try purchasing them on either craigslist or eBay. As a rule of thumb buying hardware second hand could come with risks, such as an expired warranty. Always be careful when buying hardware second hand.
The various KIND LED series of lights offer incredible value at the price point they are listed at. The X series of KIND LED lights are an affordable bar light solution that is an excellent starting point for growers. The K3 and K5 series of KIND LED lights are a bit more expensive but also provide more control over the light spectrum that is distributed over whatever you are trying to grow.
It is easy for us to recommend KIND LED lights as they offer incredible lights with energy efficiency at the forefront. The minimal design of the lights also makes them an appealing addition to any home grower’s grow operation. Kind LED lights are in a league of their own.
